Details: Hi. I am selling this 2001 chevy because dad told me that he will not help me pay for the rest of the work an on the car and that I have to buy a truck with him so he can use it. He does not believe in side mechanics and he told me to post a add as is but I feel its the right of the customer to know what they are buying. Also I do not want to answer a million questions over the phone. So if you want to buy the car bring your mechanic or your diagnose machine when you come to look at it. I paid 2500 for the car last June. About a month ago a problem started.-steering wheel locked up. I had no power steering fluid. I took it to our family mechanic. He suggested to replace the whole pump. We did.It cost $230. It locked up again and I took it back. He said its no big deal that the power steering hose on top looks loose and leaky. He tightened and said it but if the problem returns he said to replace the upper hose. The hose is $8 and I dont know how my much to put it on but I think its actually easy enough to do alone. Then all my lights came on.Check EngineABSTractionI paid $90 for a new diagnosis. I was told that its minor but not to my dad. -It needs Upper and Lower o2 sensors-a new fuse which controls the fan. (Yes the fan works.)-some wireing needs looked at to confirm the fan needs a new fuse. He quoted me $170 in new parts and Two hours labor at $120I was told after that all lights would go away and the car would ride easier and quieter.It was recomended also that I get a tune up but I know it´s not nesessary because I did one in August with Jiffy Lube (Just not with my family mechanic) and they replaced all the spark plugs, the tires, did a oil change, put in a new thermistat and they put on a new radiator hose. Before I bought the car the engine blew. The whole engine was replaced. NOT REBUILT. It was a 1200 engine. The milage was 210,249 and on the new engine whick is at 247292 today your looking at only 30k some miles. I thinks its crazy to sell it. The body is NICE. No real dents. The seats needs cleaned. Needs a mirror on the right to get through inspection as well. I know it sounds like a lot to do but I figured the price like this- I started at what I paid 2500. -Then I subtracted whats needed and tag and title and came of with $1,500.One more thing you have to know about the car. Before I had the car this was a dectives car. He had a automatic car started. I never got one reprogrammed. You cannot steal this kind of car because it has a security button in reaching distance below the dash.
